It’s the third video of the series. The first two videos were created by the talented John Weeks (http://vimeo.com/johnweeks)

So here’s what happened in the last months crammed into one quick blogpost. :)
I made some Animation for Excision (https://www.excision.ca) which you can catch a glimpse of in my latest demoreel
I worked on a _lot_ of motion graphics that explain topics like “BigData” or “MOOCs” – going to post these if I get the time to write proper english subtitles.
For an (almost) photoreal change I worked on the intro of a documentary about a well known chinese Army.
You can watch the making of Qin here:
For one of the worlds biggest Demoscene events I made a musicvideo about a little parasite. The amazing :)
A couple of (german) motion graphics jobs later I started working on my first serious realtime animation. Another demoscene Project. A collaboration with and their own amazing animation software called “Tooll”.
Out came the most stylish and highest quality musicvideo of all time: Eternal Dream of Beauty!
Surprisingly is got us the second prize on the NVscene Demoparty.
You can also download the full Animation as a little exe and let it render in realtime on your own graphics card (if it supports DirectX 11).

my newest animation has just been released: NOISIA: Could this be
You can watch it here: NOISIA: Could this be on YouTube
And here on MTV IGGY: mtviggy.com/videos/noisia-could-this-be/
Client was Noisia and Mau5trap
Compared to my last project for Noisia: ‘EXODUS’ which was made during a time span of 3 years, ‘Could this be’ had a significantly lower time budget.
I wanted to experiment with a clear visual style that benefits the story and allows me to finish this on time without renting a huge renderfarm.

I haven’t mentioned here on my blog yet. But I have released the Exodus ‘making of’ a couple of weeks ago. You can watch it on youtube or on vimeo.
I have been contacted by a lot of people who wanted to redo the sound fx and music for exodus. This is the first great sound interpreation of the video made by melanie eng. It’s really interesting to see exodus feels with soundfx and background music since it was actually animated and cut for a 4/4 beat.
I will post another Soundinterpreation in a couple of days. Stay tuned.

Better late than never: Here is my demoreel which shows most of the work I did at image-engine during the production of Disctrict9.
You can see which part of the shot I did in the upper left corner.
Big thanks to Misanthrop for allowing me to use his music!

I have directed an ad for http://www.futurejustice.org together with Scholz&Volkmer.
The Film can finally be viewed online.
My aim was to get away from the usual “stop destroying nature” “we are polluting our own planet” phrases and come up with something that creates a fresh perspective. So I made a TV show for an Alien channel that explains the “humans” and their political system.
“We urgently need a balancing representation of “the long view” in our political institutions.
This is why we promote Ombudspersons for Future Generations on all governance levels.”
Video: Alexander Lehmann http://www.alexanderlehmann.net
Voice: Phil Bonney
music: iambic http://www.iambicmusic.com
thanks to: Isabel Prahl
Background: The aim was to create a provoking ad that explains todays problems but also tries to show a possible solution through the ombudsperson.
I worked on the script with the client and the agency for about a month. After recording the voice of Phil Bonnet I started to create the film itself. The Film had to be finished in around 10 days which includes creating all the assets/animation/fx/editing etc.
I used 3dsmax for the animation.
You can also watch it here:
and you can see some high res screens on my new flickr channel.

As I was already tweeting a couple of weeks ago I was invited to the See Conference in Wiesbaden as a speaker.
I was holding a presentation about my satirical films and about how I came to make them.
A big big thank you to the team around Scholz und Volkmer that made this conference an unforgetable experience – this was definitely the best day I ever had – in a church.
You can watch all of the presentation in an Stream online.
Except for the keynote and my own presentation – they are all in english. Enjoy.

I have updated my website with some of the awards that I won with my videos.
Exodus was screening in London during the onedotzero Adventures in Motion Festival. It was a great festival – the overall quality of the screened work was amazing and I am proud that they selected Exodus for their “Robota” program.
I am also stunned that Exodus is part of the Siggraph Conference Asia in December: http://www.siggraph.org/asia2010/
As I wont be able to participate in Seoul, I hope they will show the reel during the FMX in Stuttgart next year again so I can catch a glimpse.
I am still busy with the Exodus “making of” – it’s 90% done and I am sure I will release it before the end of this year.
I am also planning to release a very small edition of handmade Exodus-DVDs which will contain a couple of surprises and extras. Would anyone be interested in that?
